the person behind the scribbles
I'm Nora, and I keep a website.
Which, in the year of our lord, is apparently a personality trait. I write here about small software and slower living, and I answer my own mail. That's most of it.
I grew up somewhere flat and quiet and have spent most of my adult life trying to recreate that feeling on the internet. For a decade I built things for companies whose names you'd know and whose products you've probably closed in frustration. Then I stopped, moved to a town with one traffic light, and started making the smallest possible things for the smallest possible audiences.
Why this blog exists
Because I missed having a place that was mine — no algorithm deciding who sees it, no character limit, no one optimizing my sentences for engagement. This is a house I built by hand. The doors are a little crooked on purpose. Come in, stay as long as you like, and write back if something lands.
The short version
- Lives
- A small town at the edge of a big field.
- Does
- Builds tiny software, writes here, answers letters.
- Drinks
- Tea, alarmingly. Coffee only when the shed needs painting.
- Believes
- The small web is a working plan, not a nostalgia trip.
Find me elsewhere
not many places, on purpose
- Mastodon — small thoughts, low stakes
- GitHub — half-finished code experiments
- My now page — what I'm up to lately
