Loam Commons is a half-acre of raised beds, fruit trees, and shared tools on the corner of Prosser and 8th. We turn vacant lots into living pantries — one seed, one season, one neighbor at a time.

Why we dig
A garden is the shortest path from soil to a neighbor's table.
We started in 2019 when three families cleared a rubble lot with borrowed shovels. Today the commons feeds households across four blocks, teaches kids where food actually comes from, and keeps a little wildness alive between the parking lots.
Beds are free for any resident who commits to two workdays a season.
Every third harvest goes straight to the Prosser Street food pantry.
Composting, seed-saving, and tool libraries are open to the whole block.
