Four friends and a borrowed reel-to-reel
Copper Sun started in a converted garage on the east side — three friends, a borrowed reel-to-reel, and a landlord who only complained after eleven. We played every dive that'd have us and pressed our first single on a hundred copies of cream-labeled 7-inch.
Fourteen records later we still cut everything to tape. We like the hiss. We like the room. We like that a record is a physical thing you hold, flip, and file away in a crate for someone to find years from now.
'Slow Burn' is the sound of that garage, older and warmer. Drop the needle and stay a while.
