The reason we exist

Conservation isn't a page on our site. It's the point.

We started Slow Trails because tourism can either strip a place bare or help keep it whole. We chose whole — and we publish exactly how.

Four promises we keep

Our commitments

We fund the land, not just visit it

Five percent of every booking goes directly to rewilding partners and community land trusts — before we take a cent of profit. It's line-itemed on your receipt.

Local guides, fair wages

Every journey is led by someone from the region, paid at least twice the local guiding average, with tips passed on in full. No fly-in expedition leaders.

Leave-no-trace, measured

Group sizes capped at twelve, zero single-use plastic, and every flight offset through verified reforestation. We audit our footprint yearly and publish the number.

An open ledger

Where money goes, how many trees we've planted, which projects we fund — all public, updated every quarter. Trust is built on receipts, not adjectives.

How we actually do it

Regeneration over restraint

Doing less harm isn't enough. We choose journeys that put something back — replanting corridors between fragmented forests, funding ranger patrols in the off-season, and buying from farms that are healing their soil rather than mining it.

It costs a little more and moves a little slower. Our travelers tell us that's exactly why they come back.

The forest gave my grandfather a living, and it nearly disappeared. Guiding for Slow Trails means it can give my daughter one too — and still be here for hers.
