Affordable Vibe-Coding Platforms with Free Trials

Short answer. Dual7, Bolt, Lovable, Replit, Base44, and v0 all let you start for free. They offer ongoing free plans instead of trials that end after a set time. Bolt and Lovable suit quick prototypes in a browser. Replit puts the code editor, runtime, and deployment in one workspace. Base44 focuses on full stack apps for people who do not want to code. v0 suits React projects that use Vercel. Dual7 suits teams that want to turn a free prototype into production software with an approval process and code they can export.

Pricing note. The prices below are US list prices from each vendor's official page. Your total may also include taxes, hosting, model use, or add ons.

Compare the free plans and paid prices

A useful free plan lets you test your own workflow. You should also learn what happens when the free allowance runs out and whether you can deploy and maintain the app. The table shows what each free plan includes and how much the first paid plan costs.

What makes a vibe coding platform affordable?

The plan price tells you only part of the cost. Each builder measures use in a different way. It may charge by tokens, credits, messages, model use, seats, or more than one of these. Repeated changes to a large app can use the free allowance fast.

Check these four costs.

  • Check whether the free plan can build one complete workflow or only a set of screens.
  • Count how much of the allowance you use for prompts, fixes, and retries.
  • Find the paid plan you need for deployment, a custom domain, integrations, team access, or code export.
  • Confirm that you can move the source and data elsewhere. Check whether the app will still run if you stop paying.

The lowest monthly price may be enough for a simple landing page. If the app will run part of your business, check who owns the code and how hard it is to move. Dual7's guide explains what "own your code" means and what to check before you subscribe.

Ask every vendor these five questions

  • What exactly triggers a credit, token, or message charge?
  • Does debugging consume the same allowance as generating?
  • Which plan is required for code export, Git sync, or a custom domain?
  • Are hosting, database, storage, and outside service charges separate?
  • What keeps running if the subscription ends?

Six vibe coding platforms you can try for free

1. Dual7 is best when a prototype may become production software

Dual7's free offer lets you build one app in Vibe Mode with a live preview and no credit card. The paid platform costs $10 per user each month, or $8 per user each month with annual billing. AI use is separate. You can connect a supported AI subscription, bring an API key, or buy Dual7 credits.

Vibe Mode and Governed Mode use the same project. You can take a feature through seven review stages before you publish it. These stages cover the requirements, plan, user experience, data structure, user stories, build, and release. Each stage has an approval step, and Dual7 keeps a record of the work. You can export the React or Next.js front end, Node.js back end, and PostgreSQL database code. You can then run the app on your own infrastructure.

Choose Dual7 if you are testing an app that may run part of your business. It fits customer portals, software products, and internal systems that need clear requirements, permissions, deployment control, and a record of changes.

Choose another platform if you need a mockup or a simple hosted page and do not plan to run the result as a production system.

2. Bolt is best for quick web prototypes in a browser

Bolt's Free plan includes public and private projects. You get a daily limit of 300,000 tokens and a monthly limit of 1 million tokens. The plan also includes website hosting and unlimited databases. Pro costs $25 each month and starts with 10 million monthly tokens. It removes Bolt branding and adds private sharing and support for a custom domain.

Bolt is a good test when you want to build fast in a browser. Watch the token count while you make large changes. The number of changes your app needs will tell you more about the cost than the free first screen.

3. Lovable is best for product teams with people who do not code

Lovable's Free plan costs $0 and does not require a credit card. Its pricing page lists private workspace projects, unlimited team members, free grants, and five lovable.app domains. Pro costs $25 each month and includes 100 monthly credits. It also adds a custom domain, unused credit rollover, user roles, and the option to remove the Lovable badge.

Lovable lets founders, designers, and product staff work on an app together in plain language. Test a workflow that saves data and changes a record. A polished page alone will not show you how the platform handles a change in the requirements. You can also read the Dual7 and Lovable comparison.

4. Replit is best for an all in one coding workspace

Replit Starter is free. It includes daily agent credits, a built in database, one published project, and one background task at a time. Core costs $20 each month, or $18 each month with annual billing. It adds more agent use, a planning mode, unlimited workspaces, and an allowance for more capable models.

Replit puts AI generation, code editing, the runtime, the database, and deployment in one place. Its pricing page says that agent charges depend on the work the agent does. Set a test budget and watch the cost of the work instead of counting prompts. Read the Dual7 and Replit comparison if you need an approval process and control over deployment.

5. Base44 is best for full stack business apps without code

Base44's Free plan includes 25 message credits and 100 integration credits each month. It gives you the core features and up to five apps. Starter begins at $16 each month with annual billing. It includes 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits, unlimited apps, and support for a custom domain.

Base44 can supply the app, login system, database, reports, and integrations. Test both messages and integrations because they use separate credit limits. A prototype that does not call an outside service will not show the likely production cost.

6. v0 is best for React interfaces and Vercel projects

v0's Free plan includes $5 in monthly credits and a limit of seven messages each day. You can edit the design, connect GitHub, and deploy to Vercel. Plus costs $30 per user each month. It includes $30 of monthly credits and $2 of daily credits when the user logs in.

v0 is a good choice when you plan to use React and Vercel. Test the server code and model use as carefully as the interface. A complex change may use the free allowance quickly.

How to compare free plans without wasting a week

Use the same small brief on two or three platforms. You do not need to build the whole product for free. You need to find the limits that will affect the cost and the work needed to launch it.

  • Define one complete workflow. Ask for an input, a saved record, an action that only one role can take, and an outcome you can see. For example, create a lead, assign it, approve a discount, and show the decision in an activity log.
  • Make one useful change. Add a field, change a permission, and revise the workflow. Check whether the tool updates the app without breaking earlier work.
  • Connect one service you plan to use. Test a database, an API, a login system, or an integration. Write down any separate usage limit or provider cost.
  • Check how you can leave. Find the code repository, source export, data export, deployment settings, and instructions for running the app elsewhere. Do this before you pay.
  • Estimate the first three months. Include the plan, extra usage, hosting, model or API charges, domains, outside services, and the time a developer will spend reviewing the app.

Which vibe coding platform should you choose?

Choose based on the first limit you expect to reach.

  • Pick Bolt for quick web prototypes in a browser and a large free token allowance.
  • Pick Lovable when people who do not code need to work on the app with the product team.
  • Pick Replit when you want the code editor, runtime, database, agent, and deployment in one place.
  • Pick Base44 when you want a complete business app without putting the technical parts together yourself.
  • Pick v0 when you care most about the interface and plan to use React and Vercel.
  • Pick Dual7 when the prototype may become production software. It adds review stages, a record of changes, source code you can export, and control over deployment.

Start free and keep a path to production

Build one app in Dual7 Vibe Mode with a live preview and no credit card. If the idea proves itself, move the same project through a governed delivery process and export the code to infrastructure you control.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Are vibe coding platforms free?

Many are free to start, but each plan has limits. You may receive a set number of messages, tokens, credits, projects, or daily agent actions. You may need to pay for hosting, a custom domain, outside services, more capable models, team controls, or production use.

Is a free plan the same as a free trial?

No. A free trial gives you paid features for a set time. The six platforms in this comparison advertise ongoing free plans. You can take more time to test them, but their feature and usage limits may be lower than those of a trial.

Which free vibe coding platform is best for people who do not code?

Lovable and Base44 let people describe an app in plain language. Bolt also makes it easy to build a prototype in a browser. Choose based on whether you need a visual idea, an app that saves data, or a reviewed path to production.

Can an app built with a free vibe coding platform go into production?

Sometimes. An app can be online without being ready for customers or private data. Before launch, review permissions, data separation, passwords and keys, tests, monitoring, backups, accessibility, performance, and how to undo a bad release. Dual7's vibe coding versus production guide explains these checks.

How can I avoid surprise AI app builder costs?

Set a fixed test budget and record how the platform charges for generation and debugging. Estimate the paid plan with your own workflow. Include model or API use, hosting, a database, storage, domains, integrations, and review time. Check the price again before you buy.

Sources and methodology

We checked product and price facts on each vendor's official pricing page on the publication date shown above. The sources are Dual7, Bolt, Lovable, Replit, Base44, and v0. We also checked Dual7's public product summary, modes page, and process page. The prices are USD list prices. We mention annual billing and taxes where they affect a price. Vendors can change their plans and limits.

We compared the free allowance, first paid plan, usage charges, production process, and cost of moving away. We did not run a performance test, so this article does not rank the platforms by speed or code quality.
